The Florida Catholic newspaper serves six of Florida's seven dioceses, with each diocese having its own local edition. The main office is in Orlando (advertising, subscriptions). The Florida Catholic is published weekly with bi-weekly production during the summer months and no edition the Friday after Christmas.

Mission: The Florida Catholic, as the official newspaper for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Venice, shares in the mission of proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ by providing information, education and a forum for discussion. The Florida Catholic provides objective and accurate current information about the Church, both worldwide and local, and events that reflect the life and activities of the People of God. Since this is a living Church made up of imperfect beings with all the blessings of human potential and frailty, at times it is faced with difficult and controversial events. The Florida Catholic will not avoid or sensationalize such events, but will report them objectively, fairly and completely. The Florida Catholic aims to educate its readers and enrich their lives by challenging them to a deeper understanding of official Church teaching and a great commitment to the practical application of that teaching. Understanding that there is a diversity of views on issues within the Church, The Florida Catholic provides a forum for such views, not necessarily endorsing them, but providing a place for their healthy discussion. The Florida Catholic, dedicated to its readers and to the Catholic Church, has a special responsibility to foster a spirit of unity and pride within the Diocese of Venice and the universal Church.
